Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Bowers served as a superintendent for the past 12 years, and is presently in her 4th year as the Superintendent of the Haldane School District. Prior to that, Dr. Bowers worked as a HS science teacher, a HS principal and assistant principal in the Carmel and Monroe-Woodbury school districts respectively. She also fulfilled the role of elementary principal in the Croton-Harmon School District before moving to the District level. Dr. Bowers is happy that she found her home, as an educator, in the beautiful town of Cold Spring.

David Wallick

David Wallick

Elementary Principal

Mr. Wallick is proud to have spent many years working in education. For over 20 years, he was a classroom teacher, teaching all grades from kindergarten to 4th grade. Following that, he was an assistant principal for two years and a principal for three years before taking on the role of elementary school principal here at Haldane. Mr. Wallick reports that he loves working with the children and families here at Haldane. When not at school, Mr. Wallick lives in Katonah with his wife (also an educator) and their two sons. He spends his spare time at Mets games, exploring in New York City, and running on the roads around his home in northern Westchester.

MaryAnn Seelke

MaryAnn Seelke

Middle School Principal
Prior to Haldane, Ms. Seelke taught and served as assistant principal in Hyde Park. Currently, she is working toward a Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Educational Studies through the program at Long Island University, Post Campus. She shares, the students of Haldane Middle School impress her everyday. Whether they are collaborating to create projects, excel at sports, or to help their community, they bring their best thinking to the task at hand.
Julia Sniffen

Julia Sniffen

High School Principal

Mrs. Sniffen has taught and supported students at Haldane for over 20 years. From multi-grade elementary teacher, to leadership roles in the middle school and high school, she has come to know almost every family in Cold Spring. Her focus is on the whole child – the academic, social, and emotional needs of each and every student. When not on the Haldane campus, Mrs. Sniffen enjoys the outdoors, musicals, and sports with her husband, Jeff, and children, William and Caroline. Cold Spring is Mrs. Sniffen’s second home and she loves being part of this community.

Anthony Showah

Anthony Showah

Student Support Specialist, CSE Chairperson
Dr. Showah is originally from Georgia, but has lived in the Northeast (Boston, New York City, now Connecticut) for more than 10 years. He spent the first years of his post graduate career as an artist, but moved up from Atlanta to join the New York City Teaching Fellows, so he could follow his dream of social justice. Now with two kids, he's outgrown his small NYC apartment and enjoys the country life! Dr. Showah reports that it's been great to join the Haldane team, where he works with dedicated and thoughtful professionals who envision success for all our students.
Chris Salumn

Chris Salumn

Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics, Dean of Students

Mr. Salumn is in his 3rd year as the Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics for the Haldane Central School District. Prior to working at Haldane, he was a physical education teacher for the Peekskill City School District for 5 years and was the varsity baseball coach in Peekskill for 6 years. During the summer, Mr. Salumn coaches the Hudson Valley Athletics of the Hudson Valley Collegiate Baseball League. He's had the opportunity to coach athletes from the Division 1, 2 and 3 levels. Mr. Salumn believes Haldane is a great place to work because of the outstanding people in this community. He says, "our student-athletes are always supported and for that I am extremely thankful. Go Blue Devils!"
