The Firemen's Association of New York Scholarship - Available to a member in good standing with FASNY or have a parent/legal guardian who is a member. Attend high school as a senior who is enrolled in the fall 2018 school year at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher learning or an accredited technical post-secondary school. Serve as a current Junior firefighter, Explorer Scout or RAM in a group affiliated with a volunteer department; a volunteer firefighter; or a volunteer with an EMS unit. The Alice Reilley Schatzle Memorial Scholarship - awarded to a Haldane graduating senior who plans to major in education, library sciences or another field that serves others. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 3/29/19

Joan Connelly Memorial Scholarship - The Mental Health Association in Putnam county has a $500 scholarship available for a high school senior who is planning to pursue a career related to mental health or human services, for example: social work, psychology, nursing, education, counseling, community mental health or child and family studies. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 3/29/19

Live Out Loud Young Trailblazers Scholarship - created to provide financial support to LGBTQ identifying youth with financial need who are pursuing a college degree. Through this scholarship LGBTQ youth can apply for funds to pay for education related expenses to pursue a degree from an accredited college, university or technical program. This year Live OUt Loud is awarding scholarships of up to $10,000 each. Applications are available at https://www.liveoutloud.info/programs/scholarship/

Glaser Orthodontics Scholarship - Awarded to a graduating senior who plans to enter a health profession. Students must submit an applications with an essay on the subject "Why I want a career in a health field." Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 3/31/19

TheDream.US - is the nation’s largest college access program for immigrant youth who are DACA, TPS, or DACA-eligible, opened its new round of scholarship applications for the 2019-20 academic year on November 1, 2018. TheDream.US has provided more than 4,000 scholarships to students who are attending one of the more than 75 colleges and universities in 15 states and Washington, D.C. The Lori Isler Teacher Scholarship - awarded to a graduating Haldane senior who plans to pursue a teaching career and is involved in community service. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 4/5/19

Daughters of the United States Army Scholarship - Awarded to a high school senior who is a child or legal dependant of an active, retired or deceased U. S. military service member who family resides or lives within a 35 mile radius of West Point. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 4/5/19

The Cristin Bambino Scholarship - Available to a special education student who is college bound. The goal of this scholarship is to reward a student who has worked through his or her special challenges to complete high school and gain acceptance in a college or university. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 4/8/19

NY Presbyterian-Hudson Valley Hosp. Auxiliary Scholarship - awarded to a senior who plans to enter a health related field. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 4/8/19

The Jensen Scholarship - Available to a student who has excelled in design in his or her high school career. The goal of this scholarship is to reward a student who has shown interest and promise in design and who wishes to pursue this path in college. Applications are available in the guidance office. The Joseph Goncalves Student Humanitarian Scholarship - Available to a student who demonstrates involvement and work for a cause or organization that promotes social justice, equal opportunity, relief of human suffering or other aspiration generally understood to be within the meaning of humanitarian activity throughout their high school career. Applications are available in the guidance department. Deadline 4/8/19

Village of Cold Spring Police Benevolent Association - Presented to a graduating Haldane senior on the basis of community service and potential for success in an undergraduate program. Applications are available in guidance office. Deadline 4/12/19

The Philip Baumgarten Memorial Scholarship - Sponsored by the Cold Spring Area Chamber of Commerce and available to Philipstown high school seniors, The purpose of this scholarship is to promote high school student interest and involvement in the community as volunteers and as valued workers for local businesses. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 4/12/19

The Liz Bono Memorial Scholarship - Awarded to a graduating Haldane senior who demonstrates leadership among their peers, participates in meaningful extracurricular or community activities, understands the importance of commitment to their community and is preparing for a career in business management or planning to start their own business. Deadline 4/12/19

The Putnam County Children's Committee Scholarship - offered to graduating seniors who are residents of Putnam County with a desire to further their education. Criteria is based on community service and financial need. Deadline 4/14/19

Irving Flaumenbaum Memorial Scholarship & Pearl Insurance MetLife Scholarships - Available to seniors who are children of CSEA members. Please stop in the guidance office for applications. Deadline 4/15/19

The Knights of Columbus Scholarship - Awarding two scholarships to college bound high school seniors who best exemplify the values of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 4/23/19

Enoch Crosby Chapter DAR Scholarship - This scholarship is a one time award of $500. The applicant must be a student in good standing, currently enrolled in high school in Putnam or Dutchess County and received acceptance to an accredited college or university. Scholarship applicants should exhibit extraordinary citizenship, integrity and service to his or her community while maintaining high academic standards. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 4/26/19

Cornell University Master Gardener Scholarship - awarded to a student that plans to pursue a degree in the field of plant science, horticulture, floriculture, architectural landscape design, forestry, botany or any other environmentally related program. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline 4/30/19

The Joseph Percacciolo Memorial Award - Offered to a graduating Haldane senior who plans to pursue a college degree. Students must complete an application and essay. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline - 5/3/19

Summer Programs/Internships/Employment Opportunities

Putnam students may apply for paid and unpaid summer internships in county government through the Putnam Invests in Leaders of Tomorrow (PILOT) Program. Accepted students gain hands-on professional experience in areas such as finance, criminal justice, engineering, communications, information technology, law, health, psychology and more. The concept of the PILOT Program was first introduced by County Executive MaryEllen Odell in 2013, with support of the Putnam County Legislature. Eligible participants must be Putnam County residents who are graduate, college, or high school students in their junior or senior year. For college students, a GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended. Applicants must complete and submit all materials online beginning November 26, 2018 through January 31, 2019. Filing instructions are posted on the Putnam County website at www.putnamcountyny.com/internapply.
