The Haldane High School Guidance Department helps students access the coursework and extracurricular activities that will allow them to reach their highest academic and personal potential. The high school counselors also actively contribute to the development of a safe and supportive environment in which to learn.
Throughout their years at Haldane, students will meet with counselors individually, with their parents/guardians, in small groups, and in their classrooms to assist with:
- Academic advising including course selection, scheduling, and academic support
- Social and emotional counseling including peer relationships, stress management, conflict resolution and crisis intervention
- Career and college exploration using tools on Naviance as well as community resources
- Post-secondary planning, beginning with the initial search through the application and acceptance process

Military Opt-Out
Under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) federal legislation, school districts are required to provide student information to the military forces once they enter high school. If a parent does not wish for this information to be shared with military personnel, you may submit an opt-out form. The high school office will normally provide this option when a student enters 9th grade. Additional information can be obtained from the high school guidance office.
