Meet our Faculty

MaryAnn Seelke

Middle School Principal
Prior to Haldane, Dr. Seelke taught and served as assistant principal in Hyde Park. Currently, recently completed her Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Educational Studies through the program at Long Island University, Post Campus. She shares, the students of Haldane Middle School impress her everyday. Whether they are collaborating to create projects, excel at sports, or to help their community, they bring their best thinking to the task at hand.

Kelli Annesi

Seventh Grade, Social Studies
Mrs. Annesi loves the study of American History and when she is not in school she loves spending time with her family.

Deborah Behling

Speech/Language Therapist
Special Education
Ms. Behling has been a New York State Certified Speech/Language Therapist for twenty-five years, sixteen of which have been at the Haldane School District. In her free time Ms. Behling enjoys cycling, kayaking, camping, quilting, and competitive ballroom dancing.

Katie Boonshoft

MS/HS Visual Arts Teacher

Angela Branco

Ms. Branco went to SUNY New Paltz and School of Visual Arts where she made many paintings, drawings, and graduated as a sculptor. She was an art teacher for three years at The Seed in Yorktown, then three more at Growing Up Green Charter School in Queens. Ms. Branco loves to bake bread, play outside, and hug animals.

Mercedes Burke

Occupational Therapist
Special Education
Ms. Burke has been a pediatric occupational therapist for 18 years. She began her career with children ages 0-21 with various developmental, neurological, learning, and physical disabilities in residential centers, day treatment facilities, schools, and at their homes. She has worked as a contracted early intervention provider, as well as a school-based therapist, serving Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess Counties. Ms. Burke has extensive experience with Spanish Bi-lingual and English-speaking children ages 0-10. She was also founder and co-owner of a private practice specializing in Sensory Integration Therapy. Ms. Burke joined Haldane in 2015 and enjoys working to help children reach their maximum potential for functional independence to be successful in their future endeavors. She enjoys her husand, 9-year-old son, and 2 rambunctious dogs, as well as learning about wellness and nutrition. In the winters you can find her skiing up at Catamount Mountain and in the summers either relaxing together or traveling to visit our families in Spain and Ireland.

Tony Caldiero

Teacher, Modified Cross Country Coach
Physical Education
Mr. Caldiero has worked in the Haldane School District for 18 years teaching physical education from kindergarten right on through the high school. Over the years, he has also coached modified soccer, modified volleyball, modified cross country, and served as an assistant to varsity lacrosse and varsity volleyball. He helps run the middle school intramural program and was the middle school student council adviser for five years. Mr. Caldiero feels that it is a rewarding experience to see the kids grow throughout their years here in the Haldane community. It is without question the best part of his job!

Even though Mr. Dougherty has been at Haldane for over 30 years at Haldane he says that "each year is like a new beginning". He enjoys birding and feeding birds on campus, walking his dog, and taking long hikes in the woods.
