With our successful 2024 Capital Project Bond Referendum behind us, the Haldane Board of Education is now focusing on the search for our long-term superintendent. We have selected Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES (PNW BOCES) as our search consultant. The Board worked with PNW BOCES to hire Dr. Benante and Mr. Albano, and we have been very pleased with the results. PNW BOCES knows our district well and has excellent connections throughout the region. The search process will take several months. We anticipate introducing our new superintendent in the spring and having them start on July 1, 2025.
The Board is committed to hiring a long-term superintendent who possesses the characteristics and skills that you believe are most important. Please consider attending an in-person focus group with PNW BOCES on January 7 or January 14 to share your input on what the Board should prioritize in the search for our next superintendent. For those who cannot join the conversation in person, PNW BOCES is providing a survey. PNW BOCES will report what they learn from the focus groups and survey to the Board, and we will use this information to guide our interview process and selection criteria.
While the final responsibility for hiring the superintendent lies with the Board of Education, the more input we receive from the community, the more successful we will be in hiring the right candidate for our community. We value your partnership in this process.
